Prompt: Apples
Fandom: ThunderCats
Lion-O rolled the apple about in his hands, clearly lost in thought about something. So much had changed in so little time that it was hard to wrap his brain around it. He went from the unfavorite prince to the leader of what remained of his people and he honestly wasn't sure if he was at all capable. He let out a wearied sigh as he tried to figure out what to do, where to go, who to trust. Trust was such a hard thing to come by these days. His blue-eyed gaze drifted to the latest member of this ragtag group of misfits.
The elfin princess cocked her head in question when she sensed his gaze upon her and she silently padded over, dropping to the ground next to him. "Something troubles you?" she asked.
"A lot of things, Lise," he said quietly. "What if I'm.."
"You are strong enough, Lion-O," Lise said, cutting him off. "A lesser cub would have broken by now, but not you. You're stronger than you give yourself credit for."
Lion-O smiled gratefully at her and leaned over to gently nuzzle her neck, a tentative lick escaping him almost against his will. Hopefully that wouldn't scare her off.
Lise stiffened for a moment at the touch of his tongue on the curve of her neck before her eyes lowered and she visibly relaxed. Definitely was a lion thing. She reached over and gently stroked his mane of red hair.
The apple dropped from his hands and rolled over to Snarf, who promptly grabbed the apple and took off to inhale his treat.
