AN: just some random bunny that hopped into my life
Aurore sat on her bed, staring into the distance as she rolled a small ruby around in her hand. It was something she had since she was a small child - something that looked like nothing special at first glance but she knew what it was and what lay hidden within it. She smiled softly, her brown eyes thoughtful as her grip tightened on the ruby after a moment. "Junction," she whispered to herself. "Guardian Force, Carbuncle." A hole formed in the floor and a small green creature with a ruby on its forehead poked its head up. It let out a soft noise before leaping onto the bed and promptly began rubbing against the girl. Aurore laughed softly, running her fingers through the soft green fur. "Hey, Bunny," she whispered, having given that nickname to the creature when she was a small child. Carbuncle just made a soft noise and turnedĀ its attention to the door that was slowly opening. It cocked its head, watching to see who was entering the room. Oh, it was him. Him was okay.
"Hey, Noctis," Aurore said, turning her head to look at her childhood friend, still running her fingers through the fur of Carbuncle.
"Hey," he said, moving to join her on the bed. He smiled at the Carbuncle. "Long time no see," he said, giving the small creature a good scratch behind its ear.
Carbuncle made a happy noise at that. It liked getting its ears scratched.
"So, have you thought about what I said?" Noctis asked, glancing at her out of the corner of his eyes.
"You do realize that it's a big step down from what you are?" she asked in return, trying to make him see reason. As much as she would love it, he had a bigger duty to his people than to her. "Going from The True King to a mere Sorceress's Knight..."
